[big hearts are] for breaking

Chicago girl who reads a lot of comic books and writes in too many notebooks at once. I like to cross my fingers and use Tumblr as a fangirl outlet. Speaking of: OMG THE NEW JOSS WHDON MOVIE. [carogriffin.com]

What’s the swagger factor of your favorite Avenger?

dcwomenkickingass:

These look right although shouldn’t technically Tony have no heart? Also Black Widow should have more swagger than Hawkeye.

Called Wilson - Kickstarter campaign

woebemockingjay:

An AMAZING kickstarter campaign that combines oral history, southern culture and zines. Check it out. Pitch in. Spread the word.

Urban sprawl is a buzzword often referenced but rarely discussed in depth. In this country, most of us would rather have a strip mall than a tobacco farm and will rarely spend time thinking about farmers who’ve spent their whole lives on one plot of land. It’s a topic that needs to be prominent in the ever-changing American landscape.

Called Wilson is a nonfiction project presented in two forms—a handmade book and an interactive website. The topic is urban sprawl in the southern United States, where family farms are being replaced with strip malls and new conveniences are a trade off. The dual-platform approach combines the uniqueness of traditional print methods with the advantages of new media.

(also apparently sweet tea is made by BOILING sugar and tea together? WHAT? I’ve never felt more like a yank than I do right now)

Reblogging because Laura describes my project better than I do. (Not surprising.)

And while we’re on the subject of her mad skillz: read her new blog. She’s awesome.
